Plain English

Diffusion model

A kind of AI that creates images or video by turning random noise into a picture, step by step.

The kind of model behind many AI image and video tools. It learns by removing noise from pictures, then creates new ones by starting from pure noise and cleaning it up step by step, guided by your description.

Why it matters

Image tools are quick for mood boards and social posts, but check every image for errors (hands, text, logos) and make sure it doesn’t misrepresent what you actually sell.

At work

A bakery owner describes “a rustic loaf on a wooden table in morning light” and gets images for a social post, then checks them for anything odd.

Think of it like wiping fog off a window, a little at a time, until the view you asked for appears.
