How long a provider keeps what you send.
How long an AI provider stores your prompts, files and chats, and what happens when you delete them. It depends on the provider, your plan and your settings, and deleted chats may be kept for a while before they’re gone.
Why it matters
The longer something is kept, the longer it can be exposed, requested or reviewed. Check your own plan’s setting rather than assuming, because it varies and it changes.
At work
Before the team pastes customer emails, an admin checks how long the business plan keeps chats, and shortens it if the plan allows.
Think of it like how long a shop keeps its security camera footage, and who’s allowed to watch it.
